Suites And Interior Views

The Halls and Stairs of The Bones House Inn
in Rome Georgia.

This room was named in honor of George Macruder Battey, Jr
who included the Bones House in his book,
A History of
Rome and Floyd County.
He was the grandson of Dr. Robert Battey and
Martha Smith Battey, one of the owners of the Bones House.

The Common Areas of The Bones House
are open to all guest.

This "Honeymoon" Suite was named
after the Axson family which played an
important part of The Bones House history.
The Axson family was the second owners of
The Bones House.
This room has a private veranda that serves
a great private place for the honeymooners
to share the view of the surrounding area.
The room is facing west which allows the guests to
have sleep-in time in the mornings.

The Battey family owned the Bones House
from 1896 until its acquisition by
R B Hitchcock somewhere between the
years of 1909 to 1925, when the property
became subdivided and newer homes
came to surround the house.
Martha Battey purchased the house
after the passing of her husband,
Robert Battey, the renowned surgeon
in Rome Georgia. Three of the
Battey descendants were born
in the house.

The King Room was named after
G.W. King & Esther Lena King.
They were both former owners of
The Bones House. This room is available
for the handicapped and is on the first floor.

The Woodrow Wilson Room was named after
President Wilson.

The Flowers Room was named after
Mrs. James J. (Addie M.) Flowers.
She bought the Bones House in 1959
and lived there until 1965.

This is a small room with two twin
size beds that is perfect for
the children to give them
a space of their own.
